This solo is a location performance that brings human movement into dialogue with a robot inside the inactive Trbovlje Chimney, the largest chimney in Europe. Inspired by the region’s industrial past, it explores labor, automation, and the shifting dynamics between humans and machines. It shows the difference between physical, hands-on work and the less visible work people do in today’s digital world. Both human body and mind are being tested and influenced by the precision and familiarity of the machine. Can we truly build relationships with machines?
The piece is a reflection on our search for connection in an age of constant digital connectivity through social media, AI and machines. It questions whether these technologies are partners, mirrors, or extensions of ourselves. Blending dance, robotics, and narrative, it examines what remains essentially human: touch, presence, and belonging.
