Danube Dance Alliance: Virtual Reality Edition unfolds as an immersive VR dance film set across five distinctive locations: the Coal Mine in Velenje, the Chimney in Trbovlje, the Fountain of Youth (Mladost) in Belgrade, the abandoned Bentbaša swimming pool in Sarajevo, and a green lawn in Svetvinčenat.
Five choreographers; Nik Rajšek (Slovenia), Maša Kolar and Ognjen Vučinić (Croatia), Aleksandar Ilić (Serbia), and Branko Mitrović (Bosnia and Herzegovina), collaborate under the direction of Enya Belak. Produced with more than twenty performers, the project creates an ambitious artistic journey that expands accessibility and engages new audiences through the medium of virtual reality.
Each choreographer has created a distinct dance miniature—some abstract, others narrative-driven—deeply rooted in the specific qualities and histories of the chosen locations. An original musical score, imaginative costume design, and experienced direction further enhance the emotional and visual intensity, shaping both movement and atmosphere.
More than a performance, this immersive experience is a mosaic of artistic voices exploring forgotten histories and a powerful ode to movement, memory, and renewal.
